Note: Red Adidas home with a diagonal shadow pattern, white V-neck collar with red and black trim (mirrored on the cuffs), Adidas trefoil, club crest and white 'Sharp' sponsor. Worn in 1986-87 and 1987-88, Alex Ferguson's first seasons. Original vs remake: Footy Headlines reported on 16 Jun 2026 that Adidas will release a 1:1 remake of this home shirt (plus an all-black version) in early 2027. That is a leak, not yet an official Adidas release. No label or tag differences between the original and the remake have been published yet, so check the labels and ask the seller. Not the 1984-86 or 1988-90 Adidas homes. Questions
Why are these prices lower than shops?
KitComps shows sold prices: what buyers actually paid on eBay. Shops show asking prices, which are often higher because a shop usually checks the condition, authenticates the shirt and offers returns. An asking price is what a seller hopes to get; a sold price is what someone paid.
Where do these prices come from?
From completed eBay sold listings of original shirts, which we log and check by hand. Postage is not included. We leave out remakes and reissues, kids’ and youth sizes, match-worn, match-issued and signed shirts, bundles, shirts with a loose or after-market nameset, training tops and jackets, unsold listings and odd outliers. Unusually cheap sales of older shirts are held back until the listing has been checked, and a relisted shirt counts once. Where we have 3 or more sales, the headline figure is the median (the middle sale), not the average. Full rules: How we price.
Is my shirt worth this?
Not necessarily. Size, condition and any printed name and number all change what a shirt sells for. The 5 sales here ranged from £65 to £225, so use that as a guide, not a valuation, and compare sales in a similar size and condition in the by-size medians and sold listings on this page. First make sure it is an original, not a remake: see Spot a remake.
